With the changing of the season comes lots of new projects and activities at Volunteer South West. In our Spring newsletter you will see more detail of what follows below.
If you belong to an organisation that has used our services previously, we need your feedback to input into our Strategic Planning process. Please take a few minutes (no more than 12 mins) to have your say, so we can continue to be useful and relevant for you. Link to survey – https://forms.office.com/r/CxWCmbqAHJ
In other exciting news we are partnering with 3 other Volunteer Resource Centres (funded by the Department of Social Services) to bring organisations some Out of the Box volunteer recruitment tools via training and mentoring sessions. This training, delivered by Wendy Lamotte, is happening on 4th October from 9am – 12:30pm in Bunbury and we’d love to see you there! Place are limited so register ASAP at this link – https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/out-of-the-box-volunteering-training-workshop-tickets-707667621907
We are also running a fabulous new project called CONNECT – The purpose of this project is to offer individuals who may feel anxiety or are too shy to go into a new volunteer experience, the opportunity to practice a volunteer role whilst being supported ‘on the job’ by our VSW staff. This will give them the opportunity to improve self-confidence, meet the other volunteers, and also building their employability skills and give them a purpose. More about this in the body of the newsletter. This has been funded by the Department of Social Services through Volunteering WA.
And finally, we’re doing some research about why some people volunteer and others don’t – so we’d love you to complete this survey – https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QMLL5J5 – whether you volunteer or not! If you don’t volunteer check out the huge range of volunteer positions on our website or get in touch to come chat to us so you can start your own volunteer journey!
A very busy year ahead, but also very exciting!
As always we look forward to connecting with you.
