Volunteer South West is very active in promoting volunteering in the community. We participate in many community events throughout the year, with a few listed below.
This event began in 2005 with 54 exhibitors and a crowd of 3,500 people and 76 the following year. The objective is to help seniors in the southwest region access information about their entitlements and areas which may help improve their lives. By being able to speak to staff from various organisations in a neutral environment they are able to gain the information without feeling pressured to buy.
Volunteer South West is supportive of and been involved in this valuable expo for Seniors, promoting the value of volunteering as a way for seniors to stay active.
Future Possibilities Conference
This conference held recently, and annually over the last few years provides information about future pathway opportunities to young people with disability.
Volunteer South West provided information about volunteering and how to get involved, as well as leading a break out workshop in the Integrity of Volunteering In Our Community and How You Can Do It!
The B2V sessions are held on the first Tuesday of each month at Lotteries House in Victoria Street, 10am. The sessions are a great way to learn more about volunteering and some of the options available to you. The sessions last for an hour or so and you will have lots of opportunities to ask questions about volunteering.
