Special Events & Training

Volunteer South West hosts two major volunteer thank you events each year. One during National Volunteer Week in May and the other in partnership with Hon. Don Punch, MLA, for International Volunteer Day, 5th December.

National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering and each year’s theme provides an opportunity to highlight the important role of volunteers in our community and invites people not currently volunteering to give it a go. https://www.volunteeringaustralia.org/get-involved/nvw/

International Volunteer Day (or Thank a Volunteer Day) is held each year on 5 December and is viewed as a unique chance for volunteers and organisations to celebrate their efforts, to share their values and to promote their work in their community. https://www.un.org/en/observances/volunteer-day

Regular Volunteer Manager network sessions give managers a chance to connect with other volunteer managers and learn of changes or discuss issues in the Community Services Sector.

Throughout the year, Volunteer South West delivers various training opportunities for volunteers, volunteer managers and the For Purpose sector. Our workshops are run where there is the greatest need, using specialists in their fields. VSW also offers  a fee for service suite of training.

Contact Volunteer South West to find out about any of these events or training.
