Volunteer South West invites your nomination for the following awards

South West Volunteer of the Year 2024 (25 years and older)

South West Youth Volunteer of the Year 2024 (24 years and under)

Closing Date for Nominations: 5pm Monday 29 April 2024

Awards will be announced and presented during Volunteer South West’s National Volunteer Week event on Wednesday 22 May 2024

Follow These 8 Steps to Get Ready to Nominate

  1. Check the entry conditions for the award which are found below.
  2. Pick a volunteer that is deserving of one of these awards and identify which award category they fit. NOTE: We would like to encourage you to nominate a young volunteer this year (24 years and under).
  3. Confirm that your nominee agrees to being nominated and is aware of the media coverage that may follow if they win – eg: be interviewed on the radio, for the local newspaper etc.
  4. Confirm that your nominee is available to attend the awards event on Wednesday 22 May.
  5. Research facts and information that shows the amazing contribution of your nominee.
  6. Provide 2 x clear head and shoulders photos of the volunteer.
  7. Compose your responses to the selection criteria — maximum of 300 words for each criterion — explaining why your nominee deserves to receive this award.
  8. Submit your nomination and photos by 5pm Monday 29 April.

Presentation of the Awards

The recipients of the awards will be announced publicly at Volunteer South West’s National Volunteer Week awards event on Wednesday 22 May.

Entry Conditions

  1. The organisation where the nominee volunteers must be located and operate in one of the 6 local government areas of the Bunbury Geographe region (ie: City of Bunbury or the Shires of Capel, Collie, Dardanup, Donnybrook/Balingup or Harvey).
  2. The nominator must complete all areas of the nomination form and provide current contact details for themselves as well as that of the nominee.
  3. The nominee must be aware of and agree to the nomination.
  4. The nominee must be available to participate on the day of the event.
  5. A selection panel drawn from experienced voluntary and community sector leaders will consider all nominations and will select the winners of these awards. The judges’ decision will be final with no correspondence being entered into.
  6. Nominees for the last 3 years (ie: since 2021) cannot be re-nominated.
